Meeting highlights:

The merger of the visit to Sardinia is related to the fact that during the first meeting of coordinators in Lublin, a partner from Luxembourg – Maison d’Africe proposed to organize one of the meetings in Luxembourg. The opportunity to present good educational practices of this organization was the opportunity to participate in project participants in a large event for cultural diversity, co-organized by Maison d`Africe. This meeting was held with the consent of all partners and was an opportunity to learn about the work of this organization with immigrants. At the same time, the Festival of Cultures, an event attended by several thousand people, was an opportunity to widely disseminate information about the Yes We Can project and present partner organizations.

In Nuoro, we learned about the history of the Barbagia region, visited Nuoro and the famous Orgosolo murals. During our visit to Nuoro, we also visited the prison where teachers from CPIA work and we were able to learn about the working methods they used to work with prisoners – mainly immigrants called “MOTIVATION”. During our visit to Orgosolo, we participated in traditional bread baking workshops and visited the educational center in this town, cooperating with CPIA on a daily basis.

In Cagliari we had the opportunity to take part in a meeting at Centro Giovani in Assemini, where we got acquainted with the work of this centre and saw workshops conducted with young people as well as youth performances. There, Patrizia Damiano from AGAPE organized for all mobility participants and the above-mentioned youth workshops on “Laughter yoga”. Each of us brought with us some regional delicacies, which, combined with Italian specialities brought by residents from the vicinity of Centro Giovani in Assemini, made for a wonderful feast and were a source of intercultural conversations.

A coordinators meeting was also organized in Cagliari to discuss current issues, including compliance of activities with the deadlines for their implementation assumed in the project and aspects of internal and external project communication. A lot of space was devoted to the dissemination of project activities and the arrangements for materials needed to submit an in-project report. The date of the next meeting in Bucharest was agreed and, with the consent of all partners, the final meeting of the project was changed from Bialystok in Poland to Limassol in Cyprus. Partner from Cyprus – the organization Single Parent’s Association from Cyprus suggested that it could be a host organization. At the stage of project preparation, no transnational meeting was planned in Cyprus due to the limited capacity of the organization, however, the situation has now changed and the coordinators decided that the value of visiting another country and the opportunity to see work with people at risk of social exclusion (single mothers and fathers) in this country is of value instead of another meeting in Poland.
